Walks and places to visit in and around West Dorset

Here we will put travelogs of places to visit from our holiday cottages. Many of these are not your normal tourist traps but special places in hidden areas of Dorset.

Dorset is fantastic for walking: it has more miles of footpath than any other county. Unfortunately this means that many of them, although visible on a map, are scarcely visible on the ground or are eroded or are badly overgrown. So please take with you a pair of secateurs so you can help other walkers by clearing the footpath. Personally, I take a machete!

West Bay to Hive Beach, passing Burton Bradstock a delightful coastal walk 13 miles
