A walk to Chedington and the pub Winyard's Gap
The River Parrett Trail
This is a varied walk to Chedington village and the pub Winyard's Gap, where there are further walks through National Trust woodland. It is about 1.5 miles to Winyard's Gap and there are splendid views over the valley of the upper Parrett when you get to Chedington Park as well as from the pub. You also get a splendid view of Chedington Court.
We did the walk one misty evening in early June 2021 to take the photographs. The walk starts through the village of South Perrott then continues along wooded tracks. The official path is then along the bed of the river Parrett - though there is a bypass route - to Millennium Green!
The route then takes you through fields and finally through Chedington Park, on to the road and then to Winyard's Gap.
