We started the walk, but we decided it was not for us at that time - the undercliff is an area of landslip and is densly wooded with dense understory. We also had our two cats and dog with us. Because of the nature of the walk we thought it would not be very scenic and is is quite a challenging walk. We are not as young as we used to be, and we tend to prefer walks with lots of variety! There are also no alternative exits, so you cannot cut the walk short!
The area is a nature reserve, so good for wild flowers in spring. In winter when the trees are leafless, it is more open - if a lot wetter!
Parking in Lyme Regis is good. There is a car park at the start of the walk (Holmbush car park).
